Grand Rapids/Chicago.

We had a fabulous time in Grand Rapids. Jono and Em were excellent hosts. Jono cooked a lot of delicious food, and we were able to spend time with him and Em and Jude and Mona. We had a great time Monday night hanging out with many of our friends. It was great to see them again. Thanks to Jono and Em for hosting us, and thanks to all our friends who came out to see us.

This morning we went for a hike together at Seidman Park. The colors were beautiful. Lots of yellows, oranges, and reds. Honey Creek looked spectacular below the towering oaks.

We left for Chicago this afternoon. The drive was pretty easy, although the traffic on 90/94 was a little hairy. We made it to Jan and Becky's around six. It's great to see them after so long, and Grace is such a beaut. We ate pizza and had some Founders beer for dinner. When we took the dog for a walk around the neighborhood we realized how mild it is outside tonight. Great night for a walk.

Tomorrow we plan to do the following:
  • Eat breakfast.
  • Ride bikes around the city.
  • Hang out with friends.

Heading out.

After breakfast with Joanne, Matthew, and Margot at the Brown Dog Cafe in St. George, we hopped in the wagon and drove to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to visit some friends. The fall colors on the way down were spectacular, and we saw many tractors and combines in the fields. We arrived at Jono and Em’s place at 6:30, just in time for the fabulous dinner Jono had prepared. It was great to spend some time with Jude, Jono and Em’s little son. He’s very cute. We had a fine evening talking and drinking wine.

Things to do today:

  • Have breakfast with friends.
  • Get blog started.
  • Go to Vertigo Records.
  • Go the the library.
  • Eat dinner.
  • Hang out with friends.
