Joshua Tree.

We drove out to Joshua Tree National Park on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day, and the scenery was fabulous. We entered the park and found a campsite in the Ryan Campground. Then it was time to explore. We went out to the Keys View, where you can see the Sultan Sea and all the way into Mexico. Then we did a few other hikes around the park. The Joshua Trees and the stark desert landscape were just incredible. The sunset was beautiful, and then the sky just filled up with stars. We slept with the fly off the front of our tent so we could look up at the stars and moon. Our campground was bathed in moonlight and moon shadows. We got up in time to see the sun rise over the mountains. We ate pancakes and went for another hike. We saw a few old broke-down jalopies out by an abandoned mine, as well as the ruins of a pink brick house and a makeshift gravestone. Then we walked back to the car and hit the road for Zion National Park via Las Vegas. Joshua Tree was easily one of the most beautiful places we've both been to.

Note: Listening to Joshua tree while driving through Joshua Tree, as per suggestion by one Travis "Tex" Pope: Check.
